Olympics: Medal in wrestling for India.

Another day another medal, India is going for glory in the last days of the Olympics where they won their 6th medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 equalling their tally of London 2012 where they won 6 medals too. And what the interesting thing is, In London also we have won 4 bronze and 2 silver and in Tokyo also we have won 4 bronze and 2 silver. And the new member to join that prestigious list of medalists is Bajrang Punia. Before the Olympics when Indian media was speculating the candidates who can bring medals, Bajrang was one of the main athletes so at that time he is trusted by everyone to bring a medal. And he didn’t disappoint his fans and the people of India by winning a Bronze medal in the freestyle 65kg weight category.

He started his Olympics outing against E. Akmataliev and Bajrang looks confident in his first match, but the match was tight but at the end, he managed to cross the line and won the match and qualified for the quarter-finals where M. Ghiasi Cheka was waiting for him to give him the tough fight. And first, half the match was looking very tight and Cheka got the lead of 1 point but in second half Bajrang took 2 points lead and then he got the moment to remember, he pins down his opponent and won the match by 2-1 by fall (Fall means if your opponent both shoulders touches the mat then you win automatically). And with this win, he sights his eyes on the semi-final and he started smelling the medal and he came up against H. Aliyev which is a bit disappointed for him because whenever he was going for a point he somehow gifts the point to his opponent but still he showed some real fight, but unfortunately he lost the match by 12-5. But still, the chance for winning the medal was not over, there was one more chance where he can win the match and can win a bronze medal for his country. So he came drew against D. Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan and he showed complete dominance on the mat, he showed who is real boss, he showed he is the main man basically in 6 minutes he was so good, it was a flawless performance and he attacked well, on many occasions he found wrong-footed and attacked his one leg and tried to take him down and earn points in same fashion 2 times and he got some other moves and with those beautiful moves and won the match by 8-0 by complete domination.

So a big congratulations to Bajrang, his hard work get payoff today, and credits to his coach also who have surely played a big role in this achievement.
Thank You

India has adopted the habit of winning an Olympics medal in wrestling

Remember the name- Ravi Kumar Dahiya, his performance was just astonishing, remarkable, and most dominant by any Indian wrestler. India has won 4 medals till now but I think this medal will be remembered for a long time because it was just a one-man show he dominated that mat, opponents, and won a Silver medal for himself in Men’s freestyle 57kg weight category. Wrestling becomes one of the sport which always gives medals and yes lots of happiness to the nation. India has a stronghold in wrestling as in previous Olympics and commonwealth games wrestling is one of the sports which is always been consistently brings medal for India.

Source- Sportskeeda

So today let’s discuss the hero of the nation Ravi Kumar Dahiya and how he won the medal for his country.

Ravi Kumar opening match was drawn against Colombian wrestler Oscar Tigreros and he started strong in a match he was quick in his moves, he was defending well and he won the match by 13-2 with technical superiority( Technical Superiority means when you lead by 10 points so you gain technical superiority and you won the match) and with this result he proceeded to quarter-finals and he came up against Bulgaria, Georgi Vangelov and he bosses his opponent and run the show as he won the match by 14-4 & again with Technical Superiority and with that win he proceeded to Semi-finals, and here big test is waiting for him and he came up against Kazakhstan, N. Sanayev. This round was vital for Ravi to qualify for the finals and make a sure medal for him but after some minutes it got proved that this match will not be a piece of cake like other matches. But he took advantage and take an early lead by 2-1, but after the second half Kazakhstan wrestler fight back and gave two quick reversals and earned 4 points and again he gave him reversal and stretches his lead to 7 points and at that time it was looking game over for Ravi but a minute and a half in hand he fights back he quickly earned 3 points and shorten the lead to 4 and then he pins down his opponent won the match by 7-9 with fall (Fall means when your opponents both shoulders are on the mat, with this you directly wins the match). And in the final, a big wall was standing in front of him whose name is Zaur Uguev and the match was played with high intensity as both wrestlers were in a mood to win the gold medal only. But I have to praise Uguev because whenever Ravi hunt for attacking and he finds Uguev in sacrificing position but suddenly Uguev turns that into his favor and won the points from Ravi Kumar, Uguev was taking a calculated risk and won the match by 7-4. And register a gold medal for himself while Ravi loses the match and he won Silver Medal. But the match was tight and anyone could win the match and kudos to Uguev but a big hearty congratulations to our Ravi Kumar Dahiya, he was just exceptional and you have to praise him as much you can.
And now it feels like many medals are coming, and India is certainly on a roll right now. And in the morning India Men’s hockey won the bronze and now we won silver, So yes it is a good outing for now.
So I hope you like this blog and if you have any opinion, please do share with me in the comment section.

Olympics: Redemption of Indian Hockey Men’s Team

Glory days are back, India has won the Bronze medal in Olympics after facing 41 years of drought, this is the sport originated in India and this is the sport where India dominated for decades but from past 20-30 years they lost the fierceness, some people even said the era of Indian Hockey is over but here the redemption of our Indian Team they finally won the Bronze Medal in Olympics and this tournament was amazing for them, they work hard in this tournament, there were matches where they muscled off, and there was a match where they show how good India is what we are made of.

Source- DNA India

So let’s see how they play in this Olympics, take a quick look at their comebacks and their story of this Olympics.

India started their outing against New Zealand, New Zealand are considered as the good opponent and they started their tournament strong as they netted 3 goals and won the match by 3-2, but their next match was against Australia who is one of the contenders for Medal and they lost the match by 7-1, and it was a big defeat many people were wondering, Is this loose will demoralize players or break the momentum of a team but in next match against Spain we showed our fighting spirit and we scored 3 goals and dominated almost all halves and yes won the match by 3-0, and next was against Olympics champion Argentina, and nobody puts their money on us but we gave a shock and won the match 3-1 and by winning this match it was sure that we are qualifying for quarter-finals. And our last and next to pool match was against Japan and with the confidence team was arriving for Japan it might take something extraordinary to beat us but India won the match by 5-3. And started preparing for the quarter-finals. And in the quarter-finals, we drew against Great Britain which is a tough match but in past, we have beat them many times so we started strong and won the match by 3-1. And all Indian fans started smelling the medal, they know momentum with us big things can happen and they face-off Belgium, and in first 3 half’s match was pretty equal, neither team had clear authority on the but on 4th half Belgium completely turns the game and the netted 3 times and won the match and it was a big shock for all Indians but there is a chance to win a Bronze medal so in Bronze medal they came up against Germany, and they are very strong but Indians were optimistic and what happened? The young folks of India have created the history and won the match by 5-4 and my heart rate goes on the roof after winning the match, there were emotions, goosebumps all the things at the same time, I just can’t believe what I have witnessed.
A big congratulations to India’s Men Hockey Team and thank you to them for giving us this happiness and kudos for your hard work what you have done over the years and It was just fantastic and the best medal we have won till now.

Lovlina adds another Bronze to India’s Olympics medal tally

Every Olympics we witness a wonderful story of talents, there are some unheard stories and some are heard but every story has its own emotions. And this is the story of an underdog wrestler Lovlina Borgohain, when she arrives in Olympics I think in wrestling especially everyone’s eyes were on Mary Kom or Amit Panghal but by dropping magnificent performances she grabbed all the attention and it was fully deserved.
So today we will talk about our own India superwoman who recently added to a prestigious list of medalists from India and her name is Lovlina Borgohain. She picks up the Bronze medal and won the 3rd medal for her country and made us proud.

She started her journey of the Tokyo Olympics by winning against N. Apetz and she won that match by 3-2 after handsomely dominating all bouts and proceeded to quarter-finals and she faced N.C.Chen of Chinese Taipei and won that match by 4-1 and she drops another solid performance as she raises the bar of her performance and won that match and with that victory, she secured the medal but the color of the medal still need to be decided, but everyone was hoping from her that color will be Gold even after the match she admitted her dream is to win a gold medal but she came up short and losses her semi-final against Turkey opponent B.Surmeneli, what the big thing is it was a heavy loss for her as she lost the match by 5-0 and she gets dominated by her opponent. Nevertheless, she won Bronze which is a big thing for India and she is only 23 so many Olympics are ahead of her and will get this opportunity in the next Olympics to change the color of her medal and I am confident that she will fulfill her dream and will be standing on the 1st podium.

So hearty congratulation to her it is our 3rd medal in boxing in last 4 Olympics, and also a big congratulation to her coach Raffaele who is the main man behind Lovlina progress in this Olympics.

Team India: Make or Break series for some players

The new cycle of the World Test Championship will start from tomorrow for Team India and it will be a good test for India to play against England in England and everyone eyes are on this series because of the rivalry that England and India share and the quality of cricket which viewers get to see is top-notch. But today, I am going to discuss some Indian players for which this series is a make or break series for them, and how this series will shape their future will be important to see.
So let’s discuss.

SOURCE- Times of India

Cheteshwar Pujara – There have been many doubts over Pujara’s future from last year even though he was a big protagonist of those Brisbane and Sydney win and draw in Australia and for me, he showed all of us how big a warrior he is after getting hit by many bouncers surviving at those difficult conditions and being one of those walls for Team India in past years but his performance, especially in last two years where he even didn’t score a single hundred has created doubts and his run making ability, is being questioned nowadays and even Virat Kohli came up after the WTC final loss that some players need to show more intent and media interpreted this message as a direct message for Pujara because in both innings he was very conservative in his approach and he got lots of criticism over it. And cricket experts are assuming that these 5 tests, which if he plays ,will be crucial for Pujara’s continuity. So he is one of the players we have to watch out for this series and if he fails what will happen and who will take place in that position no.3.

Jasprit Bumrah – Now when we make India team 11 for any format Jasprit Bumrah is a common name we all take but from some time Jasprit Bumrah is missing somewhere and his pace, the swing, the sharpness is missing from his bowling even in WTC final he went wicketless in both innings and one test he plays against England in India he looks completely off-color and even in Australia in White Ball format he was not looking that much deadly as we expect from Bumrah. So there are concerns over him as the T20 world-cup is also approaching. So it will be interesting to watch how he bowls against England, will we see those sharp bouncers and yorkers from him again and I hope he comes back in his rhythm because he is the important piece of the puzzle for the T20 world cup so if he does well here that will certainly give rise to his confidence.

Rohit Sharma- This name might surprise you in this list I am not writing his name because he is not in form or something like that but because what we expect from Rohit Sharma is not what we got from him on overseas tour till now. Yes, he had played some good short innings in Australia and for me, he looks solid in all those innings and even against New Zealand in WTC he was one of the best batsmen as he was looking solid if we consider both innings but after making 30 odd runs he gets out, the same story was in Australia and even in WTC in both innings this happens. So it will be a test for Rohit Sharma how he converts those start into big innings because Rohit Sharma carries some name and everyone expects him to make those big hundreds and many legends have predicted about Rohit Sharma how he will perform in England like Sunil Gavaskar sir has said his test series will be like 2019 world-cup where he made tons of run where on another side Brad Hogg made a big statement by saying I will be surprised if he does well in England. So yes we are waiting for those Rohit Sharma’s classic hundreds and how he will perform in England seaming conditions.

Ajinkya Rahane- His situation is somewhat like Pujara who is a bit inconsistent and he played some good innings and his inning in Melbourne is unforgettable but after making that hundred he only managed to score only one fifty-plus score in the next 7 test matches and there are many doubts over his performance and if India is looking for transition his position is in danger so this series against England could be quite significant for him.

So this is my opinion, and I would love to listen to your opinions and you can simply drop your opinions in the comment box.

Harry Kane: Transfer move on the cards

Every summer one transfer saga arise which becomes the center of attraction for every football fan and pundit, like in 2019 Neymar and Barca saga was there and in 2020 Messi’s exit was on the radar which created havoc in the footballing world by showing his willingness to leave FC Barcelona and this summer it looks like Harry Kane will catch up the headlines as he was supposed to turn up in today’s Spurs training morning session after his vacation but he didn’t show up and in English media, it is heavily reported that Kane wants an exit and his intention is not to join the training session.

Source- FotMob

So let’s jump into his transfer details and discuss who are the leading contenders to sign him.

Harry Kane is heavily reported for a transfer exit who currently has a contract with Tottenham Hotspurs which runs until 2024. But a lot of things have happened in the last year as Spurs enable to get into the top 4 and there is no champions league football for the next year and Harry Kane wants to win trophies which looks too difficult at the moment with Tottenham Hotspurs. He showed his desire to leave this summer and it is reported that Kane has a gentlemen agreement with hotspurs to leave this summer but Daniel levy, Hotspurs chairman is not making his transfer easy and asking a huge amount of fees. And it is no secret that Manchester City wants to pursue Harry Kane and will do everything to land him at Manchester as Pep Guardiola consider him the last piece of the puzzle to win the Champions League with the City and even Kane is open to a move to the city and City reportedly offered around £100m- £130m but spurs have rejected immediately and they have demanded around £150m – 200m which makes this operation non-feasible as they also don’t want any players in exchange with some cash. And in this pandemic, many big clubs are not in a position to spend this type of cash and only 2-3 clubs can afford his transfer and some of the contenders to sign him are Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United but out of all only Manchester city have shown serious interest till now. So it will be interesting to see where Harry Kane will end up this summer and will Manchester city raise their bid but right now this looks difficult for me if Spurs keep asking for this kind of money and it will be interesting to see, do city have this much money to buy Harry Kane considering they are also going for the Jack Grealish who will cost them around £100M.

I hope you like this blog and if you have any opinion regarding this transfer you can share it in the comment box.

P.V SINDHU WINS HER SECOND OLYMPICS MEDAL FOR INDIA

History has been made as P.V Sindhu wraps up the bronze medal match and secures bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics for her. When she was heading towards this Olympics everyone in India expected her to win the 2nd consecutive medal and she prove them right as She was dominant throughout the tournament and played exceptionally well even better than her previous outing in the Olympics where she won silver.

Source- News18

She started her qualifications campaign against K. Polikarpova where she won the match in two straight games 21-7, 21-10 and in match 2 she faces N.Y. Cheung and she drops another solid performance and won the match by 21-9, 21- 16, and in match 3 which was the last match of qualifiers she won 21-15, 21-13 against M. Blichfeldt, she proceeds to the quarter-final with that victory and she draws with a difficult opponent in quarterfinal A. Yamaguchi but she completely slandered her opponent she uses the court very well, played a match on a good pace and played attacking style which suits her best and played some beautiful cross-court smashes and with that victory she proceeds to Semi-final where she faces T.Y. Tai. In the first game she looked strong and even in an early stage of a game she took a lead also but in the end, the momentum shift towards Tai and she won the 1st game with a close margin of 21-18 but the game was not over for Sindhu and everyone expecting her to be on toes in 2nd game but things didn’t work out for her and she lost the match but her journey was not over she got one final chance where she can win a bronze medal for her country and she did it beautifully against Chinese opponent B.J.He and completely dominates her opponent and won the match by 21-13, 21-15. She was using the court well and she got some very good smashes in her arsenal and she uses them very well and I pictured some smashes in my memory because of their accuracy and timing as well.

And this medal for Sindhu is significant because she becomes the first Indian woman to win 2 medals in consecutive Olympics and she makes the whole of India proud and if I have to be honest everyone was expecting from her and also her dream was to win a Gold medal but that didn’t happen but by winning bronze she shows how good she is and what capabilities she has and improvements she made in her game like her defense has become rock-solid she understands her game more now and special thanks to her coach Park Tae-Sang who joined her in 2019 and 2 years she made a significant amount of improvement and incoming year this graph will only go upward. So hearty congratulations to P.V Sindhu and I hope India can win more medals.

India’s grabs their first medal in Tokyo Olympics

India couldn’t have asked for a better start in Olympics as India wins their first Tokyo 2020 Olympic medal on day 2 and it comes in the color of silver in weightlifting by Mirabai Chanu in Women’s 49kg category who lifted a total weight of 202 kgs behind Gold medalist- Hou Zhihui who successfully manage to lift 210 kg by making an Olympic record while Indonesia’s Windy Cantika grabbed bronze by lifting a total weight of 194 kg. Chanu started very strong as she lifted 84kg in her first attempt in snatch and it was a clean lift and even she get more stronger in her 2nd attempt where she lifted 87 kg but she was getting fierce competition from Hou Zhihui who was bold in her first attempt and raise the temperature of the game by lifting 88kg in her first attempt, but 3rd round brings some disappointment for Chanu as she failed in that attempt but her opponent Hou made a Olympic record by lifting 94 kgs in her third attempt in snatch and at the end of first round Hou Zhihui was on top of the table while Chanu was 2nd with 87 kg and in next round the stage was set for Chanu and in her first attempt in clean and jerk which was 110kg by lifting that she secured the medal but the color was still undecided but again Zhihui went strong with 109kg and Zhihui in 2nd attempt set the Olympic record by lifting 114 kg but minute later Chanu broke the record by lifting 115 kg in her second attempt but in my opinion the medal color was decided already but in third attempt Zhihui went for 116 kg and she did it beautifully and confirmed the gold medal for her but Chanu eyes were on Olympic Record so she decided to go for 117 kg but she failed but after the attempt there was smile on her face because she knew what she has done for her country and she grabbed the silver in her Second Olympics.

The medal was well deserved after failing miserably in Rio Olympics in 2016, she has worked hard and set various records on a world level, and heading to this competition everyone was expecting a medal from her seeing her form even his coach has said in one interview we are going to challenge for silver and they both did for their country and made us very proud. So hearty congratulation to both of them I hope we can win more medals in this Olympics.

If you like the blog please share, like, and follow me and I would love to know your opinions in the comment section about Mirabai Chanu or this historic medal.

Indian Cricket: Time to change approach

When we talk about white-ball cricket, we simultaneously talk about how you play it which brand of cricket a team plays. And when it comes to today’s style of white-ball cricket which is quite aggressive we give the example of England cricket, Yes the world champions who have developed the attacking style of cricket in a shorter format which suits the current style of cricket and what fans demand nowadays but I am not here to talk about England but our own Team India. Yesterday against Srilanka, the Indian Team played a certain brand of cricket which was quite fascinating to see because it is coming from our future and present players who are fearless in their approach and want to dominate the opposition, and ready to take risks from 1st ball. In India, it is assumed that this series is a kind of last audition for some players for the T20 world cup which will be held in UAE between October to November and everyone has their eyes on India and how they will play the ICC tournament. But yesterday what I saw from these young folks is fearlessness which we missed over the past years especially in T20,l. Players like Ishan, Shaw, Suryakumar are what India needs to win this T20 world-cup and it is my opinion India is not a team in the recent years who have dominated T20’s like how others team are dominating especially when you speak about England, Australia, West Indies, and New Zealand. In yesterday’s match we saw Prithvi’s 43 runs in 24 balls and Ishan hit six on the first ball in 1st ODI which can seem like madness but now white-ball cricket works in this way and T20 you don’t want the batsman to score big runs but you want him to play impactful innings which can change the course of the match. And in my opinion, India should try to accumulate Shaw, Ishan, and SuryaKumar, but if we consider the combination of the team then playing all three together is not possible but at least 2 of them should be in playing 11, and in my opinion, Suryakumar should bat at Number 4 for team India I am not confident about Shreyas Iyer how his recovery is going and in what form he will come so there is plenty of question and it is my personal opinion he is more suited to number 3 even for his franchise he bats at the same spot and get better numbers there. And for the opening spot, I would love to see Shaw or even Kl. Rahul with Rohit Sharma because Virat-Rohit is the kind of batsmen who takes their time and then they explode so to utilize those 6 overs powerplay I feel Kl.Rahul and Shaw will be better. And Virat and Rohit can play that role where other players can play around them and on their days I don’t have to tell you how good they are and what can they do. And I feel this is the big ICC tournament for Team India as we came close in every segment whether it is champions Trophy, World-cup and WTC at the end we miss something so in this T20 world cup we should go with a bit different approach by backing some youngsters who are ready to bring a new type of excitement among the fans and can play fearless cricket.

If you like this blog, please like the blog and follow my site and even you can drop your opinions in the comment section I would love to listen to your opinion on how you feel about this T20 world cup.

WTC- THE VERDICT!

Only 2 days left and the result of one of the most important match in the history of cricket seems like will end up as a draw. We as fans waited for months for this match, now it looks like we will see a draw, and two captains will share the trophy which is quite disappointing. But the result is possible in the next 2days or it is a straight draw.

Source- Times of India

So let’s discuss all the possibilities of how India or New Zealand can win the match.
First, we will talk about New Zealand, what kiwis have to do today is they have to come with an attacking mindset means they should go for proactive batting and they should look for runs and if they want to win today’s match they should be aiming 250-300 runs in today’s day so they will probably have a lead around 150-175 runs and what they can do they can do is invite India for batting for 5-10 overs and will search for 1-2 wickets and can try to all-out India in that lead or being trail by 50-100 runs that will be an ideal situation for New Zealand, so in this scenario, they might not have the pressure of chasing 150-200 runs in 4th innings which can be tricky in this type of track but they need to be exceptional if they want something like to happen. Or they want to do something crazier then they can challenge themselves to bat on the pitch by tomorrow and invite team India to bat for the remaining 2 sessions of the day so then what can happen is India might come on the pitch with the mindset to save the match in 2 innings and this can be tricky for team India 2-3 quick wickets and you can see a collapse if New Zealand wants to do miracle then these 2 situations is ideal for them and to become a winner of Ultimate Test match.

Coming to India’s winning possibilities, if I have to be honest India needs more exceptional performance than kiwis because New Zealand will have one more chance to bat on after this innings while India has one and there is depth in kiwis batting and tail always create difficulties for Team India. So coming to what they need to do is they have to bowl out kiwis around 150-175 runs so then they will have a lead of 40-50 runs and what they can do is for the next two or two and a half sessions they should play positive cricket means they have to show intent to make runs on bad balls and have to respect good balls and by that, by playing in two and a half session we can expect around 150-170 runs if they manage to play around 60-70 overs as in every day 98 overs will be bowled and by this they will have a lead around 200-220 runs and can invite Kiwis to bat for last 2 sessions and challenge yourself to bowl them out and some early breakthrough in the match like this then anything is possible and more importantly from this point, India will at least not lose match yes cricket is the unpredictability but seeing pitch and heavy outfield making 200 odd runs in two sessions will be a big ask.

In my opinion, if the result comes tomorrow I think at the end of the day one team will end up playing so bad that makes the result feasible
