TEAM INDIA ROARS AT LORDS

We have seen Clive Llyod’s West Indies domination in the ’70s then we have seen the domination of Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting Australia’s and now we are witnessing the beginning of new domination in cricket history which is led by Virat Kohli’s Team India. What happened last night in India was magical we have seen a Team India bowling out England in Lords in 60 overs on day 5 which was a delight to watch. And India bowlers were on fire yesterday, first with the Bat and then with the Ball.

So England has won the toss in this match and invited India to bat first which looks pretty naive decision by Joe Root as the conditions were not as difficult as in Nottingham where they decided to bat first. So India came up strong and put up 120 odd runs opening partnership and finished the innings in 364 runs but it can be more if that collapse didn’t happen on day 2 in 1st session but overall it was a good score and then England came strong as with the help of Joe Root unbeaten 180 runs they made 391. And by this, they took a lead of 27 runs and after the end of day 3, the match was looking pretty equal. And the real action was supposed to happen on day 4 and day 5. India openers come to bat on day 4 with the high hopes of giving another solid start to the team but the early wicket of Rahul makes things a bit clumsy and subsequently, Rohit got out. And then Virat Kohli got out to Sam Curran. Within 50 runs India have lost their 3 wickets and their lead was 20-23 runs at that time and at the end of 1st session England was on top of India and India needs fighting innings from their two most experienced batsmen Ajinkya Rahane and Pujara. And they delivered at the right moment. But in the 3rd session India lost their 3 wickets and the pressure was on India again and with the end of the day, everyone’s eyes were sighted on day 5 but everyone was putting their bets on England. And on day 5 Pant got out early and subsequently, Ishant Sharma got out. And England was in full control and to be honest after the Pant wicket I thought now this match is gone. But some things came into play where they tried to trigger Bumrah and things got a bit nasty on the pitch and the Umpire needs to come in between. But by this thing, India bowlers got their Adrenaline and they took charge on the England bowling side and after that, they were playing cover drives and playing proper cricketing shots and Joe Root was pretty clueless at that time and India just rattled out England by their Batting and they declared the innings with 271 innings and they already got the psychological win against England and Kohli became the first Indian captain to declare innings at Lords. And India got 60 overs to break them down. And everyone was charged up and the intensity on the field was a delight to watch. And Bumrah didn’t take long and in the very first over Bumrah took a wicket of Rory Burns and in the next over Shami strikes with the wicket of Sibley. And the passage came where Root and Hameed started to control the innings but Ishant said wait a minute I am here and he took 2 wickets before Tea and broke the backbone of England. And after Tea India took an early wicket of Joe Root and India started smelling the Victory and when 10 overs were left and India needed 10 wickets at that moment I started thinking it will be difficult but Boom-Boom Bumrah got other plans he took a wicket of Robinson on the slower blower and the stage was set for young lad Mohammed Siraj, and he showed the path of the dressing room to Buttler first and then James Anderson and with that wicket, India won the test match and they got ahead in the series by 1-0.

I have to mention India’s fighting spirit here, the team was confident, there was a firm belief that they can do it. First in Australia and now in England, it is just magical. And Virat Kohli’s captaincy was on point yesterday every bowling change, his reviews were hitting the bullseye.
