Team India: Make or Break series for some players

The new cycle of the World Test Championship will start from tomorrow for Team India and it will be a good test for India to play against England in England and everyone eyes are on this series because of the rivalry that England and India share and the quality of cricket which viewers get to see is top-notch. But today, I am going to discuss some Indian players for which this series is a make or break series for them, and how this series will shape their future will be important to see.
So let’s discuss.

SOURCE- Times of India

Cheteshwar Pujara – There have been many doubts over Pujara’s future from last year even though he was a big protagonist of those Brisbane and Sydney win and draw in Australia and for me, he showed all of us how big a warrior he is after getting hit by many bouncers surviving at those difficult conditions and being one of those walls for Team India in past years but his performance, especially in last two years where he even didn’t score a single hundred has created doubts and his run making ability, is being questioned nowadays and even Virat Kohli came up after the WTC final loss that some players need to show more intent and media interpreted this message as a direct message for Pujara because in both innings he was very conservative in his approach and he got lots of criticism over it. And cricket experts are assuming that these 5 tests, which if he plays ,will be crucial for Pujara’s continuity. So he is one of the players we have to watch out for this series and if he fails what will happen and who will take place in that position no.3.

Jasprit Bumrah – Now when we make India team 11 for any format Jasprit Bumrah is a common name we all take but from some time Jasprit Bumrah is missing somewhere and his pace, the swing, the sharpness is missing from his bowling even in WTC final he went wicketless in both innings and one test he plays against England in India he looks completely off-color and even in Australia in White Ball format he was not looking that much deadly as we expect from Bumrah. So there are concerns over him as the T20 world-cup is also approaching. So it will be interesting to watch how he bowls against England, will we see those sharp bouncers and yorkers from him again and I hope he comes back in his rhythm because he is the important piece of the puzzle for the T20 world cup so if he does well here that will certainly give rise to his confidence.

Rohit Sharma- This name might surprise you in this list I am not writing his name because he is not in form or something like that but because what we expect from Rohit Sharma is not what we got from him on overseas tour till now. Yes, he had played some good short innings in Australia and for me, he looks solid in all those innings and even against New Zealand in WTC he was one of the best batsmen as he was looking solid if we consider both innings but after making 30 odd runs he gets out, the same story was in Australia and even in WTC in both innings this happens. So it will be a test for Rohit Sharma how he converts those start into big innings because Rohit Sharma carries some name and everyone expects him to make those big hundreds and many legends have predicted about Rohit Sharma how he will perform in England like Sunil Gavaskar sir has said his test series will be like 2019 world-cup where he made tons of run where on another side Brad Hogg made a big statement by saying I will be surprised if he does well in England. So yes we are waiting for those Rohit Sharma’s classic hundreds and how he will perform in England seaming conditions.

Ajinkya Rahane- His situation is somewhat like Pujara who is a bit inconsistent and he played some good innings and his inning in Melbourne is unforgettable but after making that hundred he only managed to score only one fifty-plus score in the next 7 test matches and there are many doubts over his performance and if India is looking for transition his position is in danger so this series against England could be quite significant for him.

So this is my opinion, and I would love to listen to your opinions and you can simply drop your opinions in the comment box.
